The Hario V60 is a true classic: simple, stylish and perfect for brewing one beautiful cup at a time. It's quick and clean, and brings out the best in your coffee. Here's our step-by-step guide.
You'll need
- Hario V60 dripper and filter paper
- Mug or server
- Grinder
- Scales
- Kettle
You'll use
- 15 g coffee, medium grind (like sea salt)
- 250 ml hot water, around 94°C
How to brew
- Prep. Put the filter in the dripper, rinse it with hot water and pour the rinse away.
- Add coffee. Add 15 g of freshly ground coffee and give it a little shake to level it.
- Bloom. Start your timer and pour 30 g of water to wet the grounds. Wait 30 seconds.
- Brew. Slowly pour the rest of the water, up to 250 g in total, in small, gentle circles.
- Wait. Let the water drain through: about 2½ to 3 minutes.
- Enjoy. Swirl your cup or server, sip and smile.
Tips
- Too bitter? Grind a little coarser.
- Too light or sour? Grind a little finer.
