From a morning cup to an Ethiopian Adventure: Gogita's coffee journey

For most of us, coffee is a part of our daily routine — a moment of comfort, a boost of energy, a ritual we barely think about. But for Gogita, one of our most loyal customers, coffee became something much bigger. It took him all the way to Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee, on a journey he never expected.

How? By simply doing what he loves: drinking great coffee.

Winning without even knowing

When we launched our Shavi Coffee Loyalty competition, we wanted to celebrate the people who make our community special. Gogita, a devoted coffee drinker, happened to be one of them.

"To be honest, I didn't even know there was a contest," he laughs. "Baristas taught me how to use the loyalty program and kept reminding me to scan it everytime before paying. I guess, that's why I ended up winning!"

And just like that, he found himself packing for Ethiopia.

Stepping into the Heart of Coffee

For any coffee lover, Ethiopia is a dream destination. It's where coffee was first discovered, where ancient traditions are still alive, and where every step of the process–from farm to cup–is deeply respected.

Gogita didn't just visit coffee farms — he walked through the birthplace of specialty coffee, met the farmers who dedicate their lives to growing the perfect beans, and witnessed the incredible effort behind every harvest.

"Ethiopia left a lasting impression on me. I saw that coffee isn't just a drink — it's a culture, a tradition, and a way of life," he says.

More than just a Coffee

This trip wasn't only about coffee. It was Gogita's first time in Africa, his first time seeing coffee at its roots, and his first time experiencing a completely new culture.

"This journey gave me a new way of looking at things," he shares. "It was a deep and eye-opening journey."

And, of course, no coffee trip is complete without some fun. "Every morning we were drunk—but only on coffee!" he jokes.

Heroes who had to drink coffee every day!

What's Next?

Gogita's journey proves that coffee can take you places — sometimes i ways you never expect. And he's already thinking about the next one:

"I'd love to visit Indonesia or Colombia next."

Sounds like a good idea, right? Maybe next time it could be you packing your bags for a coffee adventure. Stay tuned for what's next at Shavi Coffee.
