Shavi Ceremonial Grade Matcha

Our ceremonial grade matcha is sourced from multi-generational tea farms in Uji, Kyoto — the birthplace of Japanese green tea. Tea cultivation in Uji dates back over 800 years, and many of the farmers we work with continue traditions passed down through their families for centuries.

These farms specialize in shade-growing techniques like tana and jikagise, which enhance chlorophyll development and boost the rich umami flavor prized in ceremonial matcha. Leaves are handpicked during the first harvest (Ichibancha) in early spring, carefully steamed to preserve color and nutrients, and then stone-ground in small batches to ensure freshness.
