Producer: Finca Bonita Springs
Variety: Micro lot – SL28| Altitude: 1200 – 1400 masl
SL28 is a highly celebrated coffee bean variety originally from Kenya, widely recognized for its distinctive cup profile and frequent use in exceptional specialty brews. Interestingly, this bean is now being cultivated on the hills of Boquete, Panama’s renowned coffee growing region, which is primarily associated with Geisha coffee.
This particular lot is testament to the unique approach of the two families of Finca Bonita Springs. In 2017, the Miro and Olmedo family made a decision to concentrate on specialty processing by cultivating unique varieties such as the SL28 and others which were originally sourced from other origins. Their decision to grow these coffees in the volcanic soils high above Boquete town has resulted in some of the most spectacular coffees that we have had the opportunity to try.
